India, Cuba Bolster Parliaments

Havana, Jan 7 (Prensa Latina) The president of India's Lower House, Somnath Chatterjee, arrived in Havana on an official visit until January 10, accompanied by several parliamentarians.

The Indian official told Prensa Latina the main objective of his delegation's visit is to enlarge and strengthen inter-parliamentary relations.

Chatterjee affirmed their visit repays the excellent one made by a delegation of the Cuban People's Power National Assembly to India last year, headed by its Vice President Jaime Crombet.

During their stay on the Island, the legislators will meet with Cuban Vice President Carlos Lage, Parliament President Ricardo Alarcon, and other leaders, and visit places of historic, economic, and social interests, such as the Latin American School of Medicine.
