Cuba and Bolivia Boost Ties

Havana, Nov 10 (Prensa Latina) Cuban legislators support Bolivian demand for an outlet to the sea while Bolivian parliamentarians condemned the United States blockade against Cuba and demanded freedom for the five anti-terrorists jailed in that country.

At the conclusion of the first Cuba-Bolivia inter-parliamentary meeting the participants signed a Joint Declaration that reaffirms the sentiments of fraternity that have joined both peoples.

The document expresses the great value of the talks held on bilateral and parliamentary relations and noted the usefulness of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas as a means to overcome social and economic problems.

It also acknowledged the importance of the Cuban literacy method, Yes, I Can, that has taught to read and write 273,858 Spanish-speaking Bolivians and four thousand in the indigenous languages of Aymara and Quechua.

In addition it refers to the implementation of Vision Now in the Andean nation that has given sight to 122,600 Bolivians.
